"LANDMARK BOOKSELLERS - FRANKLIN, TN"
After the children left the nest, Joel Tomlin and his wife Carol were looking for something they could do together and since they both had a love for books, a bookstore seemed to be the perfect venture.
Buying old and new books from a retiring bookseller in Green Hills, the 1820s antebellum Greek Revival-style red brick building in Franklin seemed to be the perfect spot for a bookstore.
Located on Franklin's main thoroughfare, the building is complete with its own Civil War history. With two floors comfortably furnished with overstuffed chairs and sofas, the store's relaxing rooms are filled with an art gallery exhibiting eclectic art books and works by artists and photographers of renown, and out-of-print, rare and new books.
With other independent book stores closing their doors, Joel and Carol are still open and enjoying the vocation they love best while selling books to local patrons as well as those visiting from other states and countries.
Book signings, debut novel parties, and writers' critique groups are held at Landmark periodically so if you're wanting to keep abreast of the latest happenings in the writing world or just want the latest in a new book or something old yet treasured, this bookstore is the place for you.
Support an independent bookseller and stop in during the Thanksgiving holidays to buy that perfect Christmas gift for someone special and make sure to tell Joel and Carol that Vicki sent you!
